Here, it is Good News to Share!!!

NCNC Board of Directors, leaders from various organizations and media person met His Worship Patrick Brown, Mayor, City of Brampton on January 31, 2023 Tuesday to present the proposed park name called "SAGARMATHA PARK" which was approved by the Public Meeting and Board of Directors of NCNC. Our team informed the Mayor Brown that we have approved the name for the Brampton South Park by the majority of community members.

For your kind information, the mayor informed us that the proposed names will be tabled at the City Hall Council Meeting scheduled on 22 February 2023. In the meeting, Bhumi Raj Ghimire, General Secretary has been given an opportunity to speak about the importance of the Park Name and message from the Nepalese community.

Moreover, NCNC President Nar Bahadur Chhetri, Chairperson Mr. Pashupati Pokhrel, Vice President Durga Bahadur Subedi, Secretary Mr. Chhabi Lal Sharma, Board Member Mr. Durga Kharal, Board Member Gopal Shrestha, Past NCNC president and ICC member Mr. Santa Rajbhadari, President Mr. Bijay Paudel, Federation of Canada Nepal Chamber of Commerce (FCNCC), Advisor Mr. Dhundi Pandey, Chitwan Society Canada and CEO Dr. Purna Kandel, Liam International presented a token of love for the Mayor of Brampton. The Token of Love reflects the portrait of Mt. Everest, the highest peak of the World, SAGARMATHA in Nepali.

In this process, Mr. Bijay Paudel, the president of FCNCC has supported the NCNC team to reach the mayor and helped us in various ways for the betterment of the community. We really appreciate his effort.

According to Mayor Brown, it might take up to 90 days for the naming process. That means, by June 2023, the City of Brampton will contact the NCNC team and finalize for the grand opening ceremony of the proposed named park in Brampton South, Ontario, Canada.

Therefore, we would like to request all the community members to follow our social media and official email for the complete information about upcoming activities and grand opening ceremony.

Moreover, it is to inform you all that once the naming process and opening ceremony work completes, NCNC team will make a task force committee for the park to look after and maintain its sanitation as per the city of Brampton park guidelines.
